Plan will help bring new life back to vacant Little Mountain lot in Vancouver
The Little Mountain parcel is a 15-acre site situated in central Riley Park, an established neighbourhood in the City of Vancouver that had been filled with affordable housing since the 50’s. Though it has been vacant since 2008, IBI’s planners helped push the development through a tricky rezoning and approval process to allow construction to progress in 2019.
The future community will be comprised of a mix of townhomes and apartment buildings between iconic Queen Elizabeth Park and Main Street. As prime consultant, IBI Group led the development’s master planning, successful rezoning application, urban design and building massing and consultant coordination.
The project achieves a balance between developer and community vision, with housing, amenities, new open spaces, and the integration of mature trees. The new neighbourhood includes approximately 1,400 homes, retail, community facilities, and a new park and plaza, ready to welcome residents back for good.
