Our project team brought our extensive experience in the water sector to a Small Island Developing State (SIDS). This programme will move Nevis to the forefront of responsible water governance and can serve as an example to other SIDS. IBI Group facilitated on-site, stakeholder workshops and meetings with key government officials, to obtain feedback and discuss recommendations for subsequent reports.
The main challenge was adapting our experience in the water sector for a territory with a population of 13,000 people. The lack of data collection and management systems for sustainable water resources management presented another challenge. One of our key recommendations to the NIA was to implement hydrogeological monitoring to collect sufficient data, from which further recommendations could be made.
IBI Group received excellent ratings from the client in meeting their expectations by:
- managing costs,
- maintaining the project schedule,
- working with the client’s team; and
- overall assessment.
